The Goal
A family bakery-café with two locations in Mažeikiai, a baking story that began in 1995 — and nothing online but a Facebook page. They wanted to be easier to find locally, to look as good as their cakes, and to give both cafés, the menu and the contacts one proper home: in Lithuanian, and launched only after a professional photoshoot.
My solution
Basic plan, nothing basic about it
The site runs on Squarespace's entry plan, which allows no code injection or scripts, so every detail comes from native blocks and careful CSS: the client's own Shrikhand and Montserrat fonts, a fresh coral-and-cream palette she chose from six, scalloped 'biscuit' badges for the two cafés and wavy section dividers.
A shoot planned before a single page
I wrote a page-by-page photo brief before the shoot, then prepared 39 of the photographs for the web with descriptive file names and Lithuanian alt text.
A menu people actually read
Drinks and baked goods sit in a clean two-tab menu, and the signature cakes — Napoleonas, Medaus tortas, Magija — get cards of their own, so the best sellers lead.
Two cafés, zero confusion
Both addresses, opening hours and maps sit side by side, and special cake orders are one tap away.
Their story, in her words
The 'Our story' page is the owner's own text — from her first bakes in 1995 to the brand she created with her daughter in 2014 — lightly edited, never rewritten.

Every page has its own title and description, the business details are complete for local search, and name, address and phone match everywhere — the basics that decide whether a small-town café shows up at all.
Real reviews, real people
Five reviews from the café's public Facebook and Google pages appear on the homepage, signed with a first name and initial.
